Maddi’s Mission: HUGS, is a movement promoting kids mental health and quality of life while in hospital – through experiences, funds, and support. For Every HUG sold a second HUG is given to a child in hospital and the funds go to creating fun experiences for these kids, to take them past hospital walls.
Why HUGS? At the age of 13 I had heart surgery, and I saw so many scared kids and families stuck in hospital for long periods of time and all I wanted to do was give them all a big hug – and so Maddi’s Mission: HUGS was born. Thousands of kids each year are diagnosed with critical childhood illnesses. They are scared, suffer pain and are robbed of childhood experiences. There is an undeniable power of a simple HUG, through the transformative power a child feels supported and cared for.
